Arlene

a new face in Country Music and an International recording artist.

Hailing from Aberdeen, Scotland, Arlene burst onto the country music scene four years ago with several hit singles on the prestigious Hot disc Country Charts, and since then, the vivacious singer has hardly stopped. The Hot disc Country Charts has given the Country singer Global exposure with the independent world radio DJs.

Arlene had previously enjoyed a career away from country music, sailing around the world on a Cruise Ship entertaining people of all nationalities and cultures, and performing all genres of music, but her deep love for country music was never far from the surface, and when she decided to turn her attention to country in 2018, she’s never looked back.

Her travels took her to Nashville in 2019, where she recorded six tracks with some of the world’s finest musicians, and she is already reaping the rewards of that experience with further success in the charts.

Her 2019 single ‘Bring the Curtain Down – ’a duet with 70s heartthrob superstar and ex-New Seekers group member Marty Kristian (who also wrote the song,) reached number 1 in both the British & Irish Hot disc chart and the main Hot disc Top 40 listing which features the best current songs from all over the world.

She has so far chalked up five Hot discs British & Irish number 1 singles and several Top 10 entries in the Hot disc Top 40 as well as her number 1 with ‘Bring the Curtain Down.’

In 2022 there will be further releases for Arlene including a brand-new song ‘One More Time’ expected to impact radio in the summer, so the year is set to be another busy one for one of Britain’s brightest countries’ music stars of the moment.

Arlene is now very keen to venture into the festival circuit and take her music on the road.

Ian Donaldson

My name is Ian Donaldson. One time singer and writer with Glasgow 80’s band H20. I started H20 with Alan McGhee who went on to discover OASIS and launch Creation Records.

H20 was signed to RCA Records in 1982. Two Hit singles followed in 1983: ‘I Dream to Sleep to Sleep’ and ‘Just Outside of Heaven’. Top of The Pops appearances and chart success in Europe, The Far East and Australia established the band around much of the world. A change of record label resulted in ‘Blue Diamond’, another Hit, and my first solo record a version of The Walker Brothers ‘The Sun ain’t gonna Shine Anymore’. Scott Walker heard it and sent me a note: ‘Diggin’ you version Ian. Scott’.

The following years consisted of touring, club DJing, writing for and producing other artists, and a weekly show as a Radio DJ. Ian Donaldson’s Essential 80’s on Your Radio.

More recently, in 2017, I had my first novel ‘A Rainbow in the Basement’ published by Strident Publishing. Launched at Glasgow’s Aye Write annual Book Festival, it was nominated for the prestigious Saltire First Book Prize. Described as Magic Realism, Donn Albright, who worked with legendry US fantasy writer Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451, The Illustrated Man and many others) for over 50 years, kindly, wrote the afterwards for my book: “This is fine writing that rivals Ray Bradbury at his very best”. Since being published, ‘A Rainbow in the Basement has been added by a number of UK High Schools to their English Curriculums as part of students’ course work. I have two more books currently in the works.

I released a solo album of new music: ‘From Stars, We Came’, the following year. Q Magazine review: “From Stars, We Came is a bold and imaginative collection of songs reflecting upon a life well lived. Full of otherworldly prose, and razor-sharp observations. Beautiful. Staggering at times. Invest. Your soul will thank you.”

Most recently I teamed up again with Alan McGhee. He introduced me to Craig Walker, a Dublin musician living in Berlin, with a view to us collaborating on new material. The result was ‘All I Have is Forever’ which Alan released earlier this year on his new label, Its Creation. The reaction to the song has been amazing. Radio play, new followers, sold-out shows ... wonderful forward motion. Craig and I have finished our next record, due to be released in August of this year, once again on Its Creation, Baby.

The immediate future is equally exciting ... I will be in The Philippines in late July to headline a series of shows and Festivals. A new album release of H20 remixes, Diamonds Never Rust’ will be released there to coincide.
